There’s something pretty amazing about playing netball. It’s something that we grow up with at primary and secondary school and it’s a favourite weekend sport for kids throughout the country! It teaches us about being a team player, how to be committed and teaches us more life lessons than we sometimes care to admit, and at the end of the day, running out onto that court with a group of friends - is fun, plain and simple!
It’s a game I love, and it’s a game that I was so passionate about, that I did my entire thesis around it!
What never ceases to amaze me though, is the number of twenty and thirty plus year olds I talk to about loving the sport “back in the day”, but having to give it up – all because of injury.
I talk to school age kids as young as 12 and as ‘old’ as 17 who want to play netball at school or competitively but they’re stuck on the sidelines nursing an injury…that could have been prevented, if they just had the knowledge and the training to avoid it...
